Crafty 2013 Block of the month -April Done

I was a little intimidated by this block of the month so decided to wait until I had time to do this carefully.

Design Wall -April 29, 2013

My wonderful husband installed my Vanishing Design Wall a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to post it then but had a quilt on it that was a gift so could not show it

This week I am making another baby girl quilt but don't know who it will go to yet so I can share it.

Boy quilts done

Several of our extended family are having baby boys this year. One of my April goals was to make baby quilts for them.  Just finished the bindings so now I can prepare them for gifting.

Estate Sale Treasures

My new passion is to go to Estate Sales. There was one on the street behind us last Saturday and I found one in Glenview today.

The website said they had craft items and fabric so I took a drive (about 10 miles from my house).  There were three boxes of assorted fabrics under a table in the basement and the sale helper said the fabric was 50 cents a piece!!! No matter how much fabric was in each piece. So I dug into the boxes and came out with 13 pieces of fabric which almost filled a paper box -- total bill $6.50. !!!!

Successful day at the Original Sewing and Quilt Expo

The Original Sewing and Quilt Expo was in Schaumburg this weekend which is not too far from my home. I set myself a budget and stayed below my upper limit.

Found backing fabric to go with a table mat kit I had bought at a shop near St Louis, IL.

I bought an applique kit of a Canyon View, a candle mat kit (that includes some wool pieces to be appliqued), some more computer theme fabric for one of my future projects and some more 'house' fabric for the Cabin in the Woods quilt I want to make.

I bought a kit and some fabrics cuts for more baby boy and girls quilts.

And I bought some fun things... A travel mug, quilt charm necklace and two button rings.  I also found a seam guide that I had heard about and wanted to try. My last treasure is a  "Born to Quilt" sign that will look great on the top of my new Vanishing Design Wall (my wonderful husband is going to put it up for me tomorrow and I will post after it is done!!!).
