Quilt of Valor #1

I participated in Judy Laquidara's New Year's Day Sit and Sew and made her pattern for the Quilt of Valor program.  Here is the finished product.

The Quilt of Valor program has longarm quilters who donate the quilting for these quilts.  I was directed to send mine to Ebony Love of Love Bug Studios in Grayslake, IL.  Ebony's quilting is fantastic - see the picture below.

Love the flags and stars in the pantograph!!

The Quilt of Valor program also allows you to dedicate your quilt to a serviceperson.  I have dedicated this quilt to my grandfather, Edwin Ira Stevens who was a chaplain during World War II and a Baptist Minister for about 40 years.  Grandpa Stevens was (and continues to be) a wonderful influence on my life and an example of how to live a Christ-like life.

On to the next one....  :)

Another Baby Girl Quilt

Finished up the binding on yet another baby girl quilt.  This quilt is for a special baby girl expected in the next month or so to parents who are part of my extended family.  Her birth will be a new beginning for them and I pray for them everyday.

I have made this quilt pattern (which I found on the Hancock Fabrics website) probably almost 20 times.  I even tripled the squares one time to make a twin-size quilt for my husband's niece.  See this post -> http://mustardseed-becky.blogspot.com/2011/11/jennifers-quilts.html

I think that I am done using this pattern and need to find some new baby patterns for future quilts.

This quilt was one of my "hope to do" items for March so I am glad it is done.

National Parks Wall Hangings

I have collected quilt kits during recent trips to National Parks - Zion , Bryce, Glacier and Rocky Mountain.

Putting them together was fun and my first machine quilting work.

Back to Square One Mystery Medallion - March Finish

I am loving this Mystery Medallion quilt!!  I am very happy with the fabric choices I made and how they are coming together.

Here is the result of Clue #3 for March, 2013.  This completes the center of the quilt.

I can hardly wait until April 1st for the next clue!
