Craft Stuff bought on Vacation

No vacation is complete without stopping at Quilt Shops!

First stop -> Stitchin Post in Sisters, Oregon
Found some fabrics, a fun pattern and a bag from their annual quilt show

Second Stop-> Joy of Quilting in Florence, Oregon
Found some good fabrics for Quilt of Valor quilts, a fabric for a baby quilt and a fun Christmas wall hanging pattern

Third Stop-> Wenz-daze Quilter's Emporium in Florence, Oregon
Found a couple of fun fabrics and a wonderful pin cushion with a sewing machine button!

Finally I bought a couple of cross stitch kits and another set of postcard quilt blocks

 

So after 11 days with almost no sewing (I did do about three hours of cross stitch one night) I now have more things to do than when I left!!!!

 

 

Vacation Stuff #6

We saw a whale yesterday by Depoe Bay, OR

Pictures on regular camera so will add them when get home

Off to the airport today after a stop at a cheese factory

Vacation Stuff #5

Finished book number 3 last night!!  I picked up this book because it is related to Pride and Prejudice but it had some occult aspects to the story. Not what I would expect from an Austen story. 

Vacation Stuff #4

Crater Lake National Park is gorgeous!!! Ron and I rode the boat out to Wizard Island yesterday and hiked to the top

Actually Wizard Island is a volcano cone with a caldera at the top and it is an island in a lake that is within a volcanic caldera. Pretty neat geology stuff 

Vacation Stuff #3

Finished my second book on Tuesday night but did not get a chance to post until now

Liked this book because it has a Christian influence and talk about trusting Gods plan for your life!!

Vacation Stuff #2

What is with Subaru Outbacks in Oregon?  Every other car is a Subaru Outback or Forester!!!  I guess they are good for backcountry driving and probably good on gas also 

Just seems like they are everywhere!

Vacation Stuff #1

Finished my first vacation read book yesterday

Love this movie so decided to read the book. The movie strayed a little from the book especially the ending. 

However would recommend this as a good read especially if you like English historical fiction 

Vacation in Oregon

We are in Oregon on vacation and currently staying at Timberline Lodge at Mt Hood

Here is the view from our hotel room.  We are headed out to Crater Lake in the morning

Comfort and Joy -Section 7 done!

Section 7 was so much easier than Section 6 - only one appliqué block and I already had the flying geese made.

I continue to be happy with how this is coming out and can hardly wait for the whole thing to be done.

Only one more section and the inside of the top will be done!

Comfort and Joy -Section 6 Done!

I have stayed up way too late tonight to compete section 6 of the Comfort and Joy quilt. I did not get it done during June and so was determined to get it done as soon as possible in July

I still need to do the embroidery embellishments but plan on doing them on all of the sections later

Now on to starting Section 7 for July!

I am loving how this quilt is coming together!

Design Wall Table - July 1, 2013

My design wall/table has the pieces for section 6 of the Comfort and Joy top. I did not get it done during June so now is my first priority for July 

I still need to do all of the appliqué pieces which will take some time to complete
