Here is the material all cut out and ready to sew into four-patches
90% of this fabric was my mom's which she had collected because she had heart disease and had a triple by-pass in 1991. I supplemented the red and white hearts (far right in second row) and the Valentine's Day hearts (second from left in second row) both of which were fat quarter purchases. I was able to dig through my stash of plain fabrics to find coordinating colors for the heart fabris.
I decided to send this quilt out to be quilted at Country Threads and was thrilled with the results.
Here is the full quilt and the pieced backing that I did.
I made the binding a combination of all of the plain fabrics which I am very happy with as it plays off of all the other fabrics.
This quilt was given as a gift to Ruth Reeve, my husband's niece. Ruth is a beautiful young woman who has devoted herself to helping others through mission trips and serving as a counselor at camps for handicapped individuals. Because of Ruth's big heart I wanted her to have this quilt and I know that my mom would be happy with my choice of recipients!!
